I finally came out!!!?

I am 16, gay, and formerly in the closet. I had a personal response essay about heteroism in the media as an English ignment. Today, we were in the computer lab working on it. One part asks about your specific remarks, observations, or experiences with respect to the issue of heteroism in the media. I wrote about how It has taken me so long to come out because the media portrays gay people as "unnatural" and "weird" all the time. I said alot more, obviously. Anyways, a friend of mine in the cl asked to read my first paragraph, because she was gone last week and wanted some ideas. She skipped down and also read my personal response part. She looked up and, very casually asked "You're gay?". I answered "Yup. Are you suprised?". She said that she wasnt. We kept working, and it didnt matter. Later in my math cl, a group of jocks were talking about my ual orientation, or what they percieve it to be. I was asking he teacher a question, and one of them, who i havent spoken to in years, said "they're saying you're gay, you should talk to them" I answered "I don't care!". It felt soooo good not to have to lie to anyone or make up some funny response to every "are you gay" question. I know i'm not asking anything, i just had to share the news!
