Will Russia recover or ever change?

There is so many problems with Russia today and I am so sad about this - divorce rates, abortions, alcholism, crime, corruption, vandalism, exploitation, infertility, rotting buildings, low retirement payments, low life expectancy, extremely bad army conditions...Seriously? Russia? The largest nation in the world which was a feared yet respected Superpower not even two decades ago?? Why do Russians have such incompetent leaders? I seriously think democracy must be overthrowed in Russia, it is devasting to have such a brave, talented and warm people live in hell. What is your opinion?
